The KSE conference is an open international forum for presentation, discussion and exchange of the latest advances and challenges in research of Knowledge and Systems Engineering. The fifth edition of the Conference, KSE 2013, aims to bring together researchers, academics, practitioners and students in order to not only share research results and practical applications but also to foster collaboration in research and education in Knowledge and Systems Engineering. KSE 2013 will be held in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, during 17-19 October, 2013, and jointly organized by Hanoi National University of Education and the University of Engineering and Technology, Vietnam National University. KSE 2013 solicits contributions dealing with any aspects of Knowledge and Systems Engineering.

All papers dealing with the general topic of the KSE conference  are welcome and proposals for special sessions are encouraged.
